Contestants - When Am I Performing?

Posted by Jake on 30th September 2014

Wednesday 1st October, sees the first competitive heat of StreetSalsa Come Dancing 2014 at Hifi Club Leeds.  And the first dance is Merengue.

Due to the large number of couples taking part, we've split the Merengue into two heats - this week and next.

On the date of your heat, please arrive at the venue no later than 9pm, ready for a 9:30pm start.  If you can't make the date you've been given, let me know and I'll jig things around - you just need to make one of the heats.

So which heat are you in?

Heat 1 - 1st October @ Hifi Club Leeds

The following couples will take part in the first heat:

  • Lee Richardson & Kat Oxley
  • Panos & Priyanka Tailor
  • Anna Andreou & John McGrath
  • Elliot Chinnock & Amy Robinson
  • Billy Goodwin & Veronica Keszthelyi
  • Emma Nunney & Andy Hunt
  • Richard Ruff & Claudia Maclean
  • Sophie Threlfall & Dan Browne

Heat 2 - 8th October @ Hifi Club Leeds

The following couples will take part in the second heat:

  • Andrew Holmes & Karen McQuire
  • Jack Lennon & Rowena Skinner
  • Kes Salsa & Siobhan Atkinson
  • Allison Marsay & Leonard Ng
  • Amy Brassington & Jonathan Carter-Hume
  • Hannah Mahwhinney & Vairis Klavins
  • Inga Gurauskaite & Dan Dobson
  • Jess Snaith & Will Greenway
  • Yolanda Perez Fernandez & Gareth Wilson

What Next?

As I said, let me know if you can't make your heat and we'll try and move things around so that you can take part.  But basically, just turn up on your night and get ready to dance a one minute Merengue freestyle.

We'll pick the music, unless you have a track you'd really like to dance to.

I'm Not on the List

If you wanted to take part but you're not on the list, fear not.  Things are going to move around no doubt, and we just need to get you a partner sorted for the heat next week and you can still take part!  I'm looking at you Kamila, Nina, Poppy and Mel.

Nearly a decade ago, I resolved to run a salsa night the way I thought it should be run and the idea for StreetSalsa was born.  The rest as they say is history..

I've made some of the best friends you could wish for through dancing, and want to share what a life-changing experience dance can be.
