Funnily enough the best pair of dancing shoes I had were a pair of Dunlop trainers I bought onlone for £3.99! I found them using Money Saving Expert's Amazon Discount Finder! An absolute godsend of a thing! To this day I haven't found anything more comfortable to dance in, they weren't too grippy either.

Second to that a £50 pair of basic work shoes I bought from Next and nearly threw out 5 years ago.

The worst have got to be Converse, anything where the ankle carries too far up just twists it and makes it very hard to turn!

I've yet to buy a proper pair of dance shoes, so suggestions also welcome from me! :)

I've still not found men's dance shoes that I'm happy with.  They're either far too formal ballroom type things, or no good for dancing in.  Any ideas I'm all ears!

Although the Bloch ones I've got have been the best I've found!

I got my shoes from ryhtmdanceshoes.com for £20! The delivery and service was great and they're proving indestructible. They're also sparkly which is important to me, haha ;)

Anyone who knows me knows I dont really do heels......therefore, my best investment are my dancesocks, just pop them over any pair of shoes, trainers or boots, they fit everyome, and no need to carry a large or extra bag around with me......

I do own dance heels but they dont really match my style of dancing, and I find it difficult to wear heels due to not often wearing them x

I forgot about those dance socks, with them any pair of shoes are great to spin in! Might have to get some :)

Yeah, I need dance socks too

Could always dance barefoot like Marie does, but then you do have to develop some pretty tough feet :)

interesting guys, always wondered whether men find that what they wear on their feet affects their dancing! i got a lot of my dance shoes off ebay but they are mainly shipped from hong kong and take a long time to arrive! rhythm dance is good too. I really want some dance socks! where do you get yours donna? x

Definitely makes a difference for men, Allison. I remember a horrendous pair I had a couple years ago that had me sliding all over the floor!

Pretty much most of my shoes are from Oobashoo (www.oobashoo.com) although I plan to buy my next pair from Burju shoes.  Both companies do mens shoes too - but they are limited.

ooh thanks nicky i'll check them out! any excuse to buy new shoes ;)

I got mine from lightinthebox.   They took aaaages to come but were super cheap! Unfortunately one pair (yes I ordered 2!!!) didn't fit very well...

So girls,  if anyone's looking for a sparkly size 41(quite small for a 41 though) I'm quite happy to bring it over to a class so you can try it on and if it fits you can keep it.  Cinderella style.

If the shoe fits... :)

What happened to that pair of shoes you had that had the ridiculously short strap, Allison? The ones you wore to that night in Wetherby.

I wear Freed sneakers, would reccomend to get the size you normally wear and not a size bigger, which I was reccomended to do!

I've heard Rotate UK can be good for dance shoes too!
