Launch Party Running Order

Posted by Jake on 17th September 2014

Tonight at Hifi sees the Launch of StreetSalsa Come Dancing, and what an action packed night it’s going to be!  Here’s what we have in store for you.

As usual, we’ll have our programme of dance classes, suitable for absolute beginners and experienced dancers alike.  We’ll be having two classes running alongside each other at 7pm, a beginner-friendly freestyle dance at 8pm, followed by two classes at 8:30pm:

  • 7pm Beginners with Donna & Jess – Suitable for absolute beginners, we start with the basics each and every week.  No partner or special clothes required.  If it's your first class, check out the event page for more details.
  • 7pm Improver+ with Jake & Allison – Suitable for dancers who have completed our improver syllabus.
  • 8:30pm Improvers with Donna & Jess – Following on from the beginners class, feel free to give this one a try!  Each week we work through a lesson in our improver syllabus.
  • 8:30pm Intermediate with Jake & Allison – A truly tricky class, you must be very familiar with our Improver syllabus to tackle this one!

And once we’ve got the classes and beginner freestyle out of the way…

9:30pm - StreetSalsa Come Dancing Launch!

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for, the official launch of StreetSalsa Come Dancing 2014!

At 9:30pm we’ll be introducing the competition, and opening the show with a freestyle performance from myself and Carla.

We’ll be announcing our judges and professionals, who’ve been chosen from the very teams who provide you with three great StreetSalsa events, week-in, week-out.

It’s not too late to register your interest in taking part in StreetSalsa Come Dancing as a celebrity, either leave a comment below or get down on the night and let us know you want to get involved!

Once the final list of celebrities have been chosen, we’ll be pairing them up with the professionals at next week’s event…

It’s a fantastic opportunity to improve your dancing, have a great time, and maybe even win the coveted StreetSalsa Glitter Ball!  As ever, the focus will be on fun and participation – we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Nearly a decade ago, I resolved to run a salsa night the way I thought it should be run and the idea for StreetSalsa was born.  The rest as they say is history..

I've made some of the best friends you could wish for through dancing, and want to share what a life-changing experience dance can be.
