Sunday 7th of September at 8pm, Strictly Come Dancing returns to the BBC for its 12th season – and I’ve got to say I’m as excited as ever. The line-up has been announced and it’s possibly the best yet!
For all that I think the show creates an image of salsa dancing that’s way off the mark, I think the show is so good at inspiring people to take up partner dancing, that I can forgive any sins and it’s gripping entertainment to boot! Far better than that X-Factor nonsense…
The Line Up
- Frankie Bridge from The Saturdays
- Radio One DJ Scott Mills
- TOWIE’s Mark Wright
- Andy Murray’s mum Judy
- Singer Pixie Lott
- Simon Webbe from Blue
- The Xtra Factor’s Caroline Flack
- Master Chef critic Gregg Wallace
- Jennifer Gibney, star of Mrs Brown’s Boys – whatever that is!
- Alison Hammond from This Morning
- Rugby player Thom Evans
- Casualty star Sunetra Sarker
- Hard man from EastEnders Jake Wood
- Wildlife expert Steve Backshall
- Tim Wonnacott – that excitable chap from Bargain Hunt
My Verdict
I think we’re set for a cracking season! Scott Mills is an inspired choice, he blooming loves Strictly – it’s about time they got him on. And Mark Wright is always good for a laugh.
It’ll be nice to see Gregg Wallace getting a grilling for once, and Tim Wonnacott is also perfect Revel Horwood fodder. I’m also excited to see if Judy Murray has more personality than her sons.
But to be honest, they could drag 15 people off the street and I’d still be buzzing that Strictly is starting again!
What Do You Think?
But hey, that’s just my opinion. What do you think of the line-up this year? Inspired choices or Z-list nobodies?
Will the show be the same without Bruce? Seems like my campaign ‘Winkleman for the Win’ has proved a success, so happy to see she’ll be presenting. Just wish is was Tess and not Bruce stepping aside.
Or do you hate Strictly and couldn’t care less?! Let me know what you think!
