The Grand Final @ HiFi Club 10.12.14

Posted by Jake on 10th December 2014

After thrills and spills aplenty, it's time to crown the winners of StreetSalsa Come Dancing 2014.  Our remaining three couples will have two performances to win over the audience - namely Bachata and StreetSalsa.

The night kicks off at 7pm with our usual classes and beginner freestyle, before the competition starts in earnest at 8:30pm.

The Plan

There are no classes tonight at 8:30pm, instead we're starting the competition to give us plenty of time for what will follow.

The remaining couples will perform twice for the onlooking audience, and should be finished for around 9pm.  Then we're going to have a quick freestyle session before the results show at 9:20pm.

After the winner is crowned we have a LIVE BAND in store for you, namely the Four & Eights - the only thing salsa is missing!

Then at 10pm, it's on with the social - DJ Rich Ruff will be throwing down tunes until HiFi's MoveOnUp DJ takes over from 11pm.

The Competition So Far

Missed any of the shows?  Want to catch up on the competition so far?  Check out the StreetSalsa Come Dancing Playlist on YouTube for all the previous show.

Tonight the contestants will perform Bachata, a sensual dance from the Dominican Republic.  Before dancing StreetSalsa - which is salsa plus any other styles they want to drop in - total freestyle!

The winners will be chosen by audience vote, so get down and have your say!

Important Announcements

  • There are no classes at 8:30pm tonight, classes finish at 8pm to make way for the show!
  • Admission is strictly £5 for non-members, to help cover the extra costs of hosting a live band.  So whether you do the classes or not, you must pay admission.  That said, the event is of course free for Full & Team Members.

Nearly a decade ago, I resolved to run a salsa night the way I thought it should be run and the idea for StreetSalsa was born.  The rest as they say is history..

I've made some of the best friends you could wish for through dancing, and want to share what a life-changing experience dance can be.
